Surroundings & Activities
Altogether it is a property of 50.000 square meters, surrounded by the "Montes de Málaga" Natural Park, with mainly pine and oak trees.
You may see wild boars, as there are a lot of them, and sometimes they get very close to the house, as well as eagles, squirrels, genets, foxes, etc. The property has breathtaking views to the sea and mountains. In bright days, it is even possible to see the African coastline.
It's a wonderful place for walking and trekking. Due to the short distance to town, it's easy to also visit interesting places within Malaga city, such as the Cathedral, or the Picasso Museum, as well as enjoying the beach. In the Natural Park, 3 km far from the house, there is an ethnological museum (Museo Torrijos), opening every day in the morning (thurdays closed).
There are also a number of beautiful villages in the vicinity, such as Comares, Colmenar, Riogordo or Alfarnate

Casabermeja and Antequera are also nearby. In Torrijos, round the middle of September there is a traditional celebration, with wine making activities and a large Paella.
Within the park there are a number of interesting excursions such as Chinchilla y Jotrón, which are old, now abandoned mills.
Scented oils were manufactured at Chinchilla and Jotrón was one of the most important farms in the area, but they were expropiated in order to create the Natural Reserve. Also of interest in our vicinity would be the Las Contadoras Nature Centre, an environment research and education building.
